Comment from Vincent Heuschling: Ce qu'on a pu faire pour les environnements serveurs est en train de se produire pour les postes de travail, avec comme objectif à la clé de voir les utilisateurs évoluer dans une expérience mieux contrôlée, mais aussi de fortement réduire les couts d'exploitations inhérents. Le simple constat du cout de maintient en conditions opérationnelles d'un parc de PC peut facilement permettre d'envisager des ROI non négligeable. Il ne faut cependant pas occulter le fait que cela amène une cohorte de problématiques connexes, comme le grossissent de l'infrastructure serveur. Si la virtualisation du poste de travail permet des gains non négligeable, l'agilité de ce versant du SI nécessite de mettre en place une industrialisation du packaging applicatifs, pour augmenter fortement la modularité. Avec la nécessité pour les entreprises de changer leurs organisations à des rythmes proches de la marche forcée, il est indispensable que les SI puissent s'aligner facilement. Les équipes d'exploitations étant de plus en plus réduites, il est fondamental que ces opérations de transformations puissent se faire d'un point central, en minimisant l'impact sur la vie des utilisateurs.
Comment from : Le Layering comme expliqué dans le "prompteur", a surtout pour objectif d'apporter une agilité non négligeable dans le cycle de vie du SI. Ceci concerne non seulement le poste de travail mais aussi son environnement. Certes ce modèle porte des problématiques de packaging mais pas seulement. Il induit un modèle de gouvernance de la part des DSI, et un plan d'évolution a long terme et les investissements parfois important qui vont avec. C'est réellement l'évolution du cloud computing en entreprise. On entend beaucoup parler de ces modèles aujourd'hui de la part des différents acteurs du monde des nouvelles technologies mais est ce que réellement les entreprises, les utilisateurs ont compris l'intérêt d'un tel modèle ? combien d'entre eux sont pret à l'implémenter à court terme ? est ce que ce modèle est au coeur de leurs préoccupations actuellement ?

Chaque étage est à la fois indépendant du reste, mais doit être en parfaire harmonie avec l'ensemble pour donner à la fin la meilleures association possible des différents éléments. La difficulté est donc de travailler à la fois sur chaque "ingrédient" mais sans perdre la vision du résulta final escompté !
Comment from François Aubriot: Bonjour, Il y a de nombreuses et intéressantes approches concernant ce sujet, de plus en plus vaste, le VDI (virtual desktop infrastructure, le DaaS (desktop as a service)... mais il ne faut pas perdre de vue l'objectif 1° :- banaliser le plus possible le "poste", le moyen d’accéder à son environnement de travail.Actuellement c'est plus de 50% des budgets informatique des entreprises, des administrations qui sont consacrés aux postes de travail, à leur gestion, la sécurisation... et au final, il n'y a aucune "valeur ajoutée" « métier » à faire des ghost, installer des anti-virus, changer des disques durs... Concernant l'environnement de "travail" d'un collaborateur en entreprise, il doit accéder à ses applications "métier" mais nous constatons qu'il passe beaucoup de temps sur la bureautique, sa messagerie Internet... Lui donner la possibilité d’accéder à ce 1° niveau depuis n'importe quel "écran, clavier, souris" connecté de disponible depuis chez lui, dans l'entreprise...est un challenge... mais assurément la 1° couche indispensable de ce « layering ».Un autre aspect intéressant ( et celui ci est obtenu en sortant du mode « web ») est d'avoir un fonctionnement unique et homogène des applications « métier » et de la bureautique quel que soit le poste utilisé (même un très vieux PC de plus de 10ans...). Ça fonctionne pour un, ça fonctionne pour tous !Enfin, pour Vincent (« ROI non négligeable ») plutôt que de ROI, il est préférable de parler de TCO (le fameux cout total de possession) et dans ce domaine, le VDI, le DaaS est un modèle très pertinent, d'autant plus pertinent si nous ne sommes pas obligés de changer les matériels ni d’acquérir des logiciels, des compétences... c'est une étape intéressante pour aller vers une économie d'usage... qui va de paire avec tout ce que nous pouvons espérer dans les domaines du développement durable et de la responsabilité sociétale... mais là ça pourrait faire l'objet d'un autre sujet:-) Sincères salutationsfa
